During your life you will have many experiences and like a computer your body stores and files memory and the effects of every experience weather it’s a good one, a bad one, a peaceful one, a stressful one or traumatic in nature. This stored information governs the way in which we see and experience life at the present. It even affects the way in which we respond to life. More so than not we are unaware of the consequences that this stored information is having on us and what it is creating. Somatic Experiencing©(SE) & Life Regression Therapy allows the body to gently, safely and effectively release the stored stress, anxiety, shock, and trauma that prevents one from living life to the fullest.

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a naturalistic approach to the resolution and healing of trauma. Trauma is an experience that overwhelms the normal capacity of your nervous system, so you are unable to integrate that experience. Trauma takes many forms. It can be a single event that happens unexpectedly, so quickly that you can hardly process it, or it can be the result of a slow, long-term pattern of events that you have little control over. Either way, trauma can overwhelm your nervous system to the point that it cannot work properly, cannot “rebalance” itself back to efficient and normal functioning. The result is that your nervous system can become “stuck” or “frozen.” Your body then stays in a state of constant threat and attempts to continually manage this high level of activation. The various symptoms of trauma, which wreck havoc on our emotions and body, result from your nervous system’s attempt to manage this continual “turned on” state and to contain this high level of unused energy.

 

How does Life Regression work?

Your life is a reflection of your beliefs. But these beliefs are usually subconscious, the cumulative effect of life-long conditioning that may have taught you to think and behave in self-defeating ways. Whereas, your conscious thoughts can be changed fairly easily as you are exposed to new ideas, meet new people, and apply your willpower and insights, changing your unconscious scripts is more difficult. Research has shown that the subconscious “speaks” not in the language of logic and reason but in images and symbols (through dreams) and through the body (i.e., a “gut” feeling, a “heart” ache). The subconscious mind cannot speak directly to the conscious mind. Their communication is indirect, with one of the most common routes of communication being through your body, which is why “body language” is so revealing to those trained to read it.
